Despite the fact that the defense of the state is a constitutional duty of citizens of Ukraine, the legislator has provided the possibility for certain categories of citizens not to fulfill this obligation. There is a list of reservists who are not subject to conscription for military service during mobilization.<\/p>\n

In particular, Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine \u201cOn Mobilization Preparation and Mobilization\u201d defines an exclusive list of grounds for deferment from so-called \u2018mobilization\u2019.<\/a><\/p>\n

Thus, state authorities, local self-government bodies, as well as certain enterprises, institutions, and organizations have the right to ensure the reservation of employees during mobilization and wartime.<\/p>\n

If an employee wishes to verify their reservation status from an enterprise, institution, or organization, it is important first to contact the head of the respective legal entity. If the enterprise or institution has submitted reservation lists, these lists include not only information about the decision adopted by the relevant authority but also the names of the employees who were reserved.<\/p>\n

Another way is to apply directly to the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center where the person is registered for military service. This provides an opportunity to obtain information about one\u2019s reservation status and the necessary next steps.<\/p>\n

Reservists eligible for reservation include individuals who, during peacetime and wartime, ensure the functioning of state authorities, other government institutions, local self-government bodies, and enterprises, institutions, and organizations in critical periods. Reservation may also be required to ensure the functioning of these bodies and the fulfillment of mobilization tasks or state orders.<\/p>\n
