Considering the seriousness of the situation, if there are valid reasons, the state may approve the request for an extension of stay.<\/p>\n

    However, proving the existence of valid circumstances can sometimes be challenging. For those with short-term visas or citizens of visa-free countries, such reasons may include medical treatment, pregnancy, taking care of an ill family member, applying for immigration or Ukrainian citizenship, and others. In such cases, the stay can be extended for up to one hundred and eighty days from the date of the last entry.<\/p>\n

    For individuals with a transit visa, an important reason could be a stopover in Ukraine due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, repairs, illness, and others. In this case, the stay can be extended until the circumstances are resolved.<\/p>\n

    People with long-term visas can extend their stay only if they haven’t managed to obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine for valid reasons. The extension period for them cannot exceed one month.<\/p>\n

    Refusal to extend the stay may occur if your presence poses a threat to Ukraine or its citizens, if you lack valid reasons for extension, if you incorrectly filled out the application, or submitted incorrect documents.<\/p>\n

    Proving the existence of valid reasons can often be difficult in such cases. Moreover, for people without experience in legal matters, it’s challenging to prepare all the necessary documents correctly.
