During wartime, thousands of volunteers and charities donate vehicles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, legal or customs errors can lead to fines, vehicle seizures, or invalidation of the transfer.
The Legal and Real Estate Association of Ukraine provides step-by-step legal guidance to ensure safe and lawful vehicle transfer.
Three Key Rules:
-
Comply with customs clearance regulations
-
Properly draft and sign legal documents
-
Register the transfer with the military unit
Step 1. Vehicle Import
-
Declare military or humanitarian purpose at customs
-
Provide a letter-request from a military unit or NGO
-
Vehicles brought as aid must not be used for private or commercial use

Purpose of transfer for military use
-

Option 2: Free Use Agreement
