Permission for Waste Disposal

Enterprises engaged in the collection, transportation, neutralization, and disposal of hazardous waste are required to obtain a special permit for waste disposal. This also applies to legal entities whose operations produce materials and substances classified by law as “hazardous” and unsuitable for further use, as they must ensure the proper disposal or utilization of these products.

The authority to review applications, develop projects, coordinate, and issue permits for the limits of hazardous waste generation and disposal in Ukraine has been transferred to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine.

The accuracy and fairness of setting these limits and ensuring compliance are monitored by the State Environmental Inspectorate and its territorial bodies, the General Prosecutor’s Office of Ukraine, and its subordinate prosecution authorities.
