Foreigners who arrive in Ukraine are also required to obtain the relevant document in accordance with current legislation. A foreigner’s identification code (number) may be required for various purposes, including:
- establishing a business in Ukraine,
- opening a bank account,
- making investments,
- participating in the founding documents of enterprises,
- issuing a power of attorney or concluding civil-law agreements notarized,
- obtaining a work permit in Ukraine, and other situations.
The procedure for processing or amending documents for foreigners is established by the State Tax Inspectorate depending on their place of residence or place of income receipt. This means that the place of receipt can be any location within the territory of Ukraine. The document or its duplicate is issued within five days without the need for payment of state fees or other administrative charges.
