Legal advice on updating data in TRC

With the start of the war in Ukraine, the issue of military registration has become more relevant than ever. Changes in marital status, place of residence, or health condition require updating your data at the Military Recruitment Office (Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center – TRC).

Military registration is an important aspect of life for every man in Ukraine. It is necessary for mobilization and staffing of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as other military formations and law enforcement bodies.

How to update your data at the TRC:

  • The military-liable individual must have the following documents with them: passport, tax ID number, military ID or temporary certificate, medical documents, and proof of education. If you will be serving as a driver, also bring your driver’s license.
  • You must also bring documents confirming your right to deferment (if applicable). These include medical documents, certificates confirming the presence of three or more children, guardianship over a person with a disability, and similar documents.

The Military Medical Commission has access to the Helsi system, so doctors can view the health records of military-liable individuals. However, if you have medical certificates that are not uploaded into the system, you must bring them with you. If you have a disability, you must provide the relevant certificate. However, as practice shows, getting into the TRC is not always easy — in some cases, men start queuing as early as nighttime.

You can also update your data through the Reserve+ application, and our lawyers will be happy to consult you on this matter.

Which documents must military-liable individuals carry with them:

  • A conscription certificate, military ID, or temporary military-liable certificate must always be carried with you.
  • You also need to have the VIN code issued by the TRC, an extract obtained through the Administrative Services Center (CNAP), or information from the “Oberig” registry in the “Reserve+” application.

As practice shows, deadlines are extremely important — missing them may result in fines or even imprisonment. It is better to trust the professionals who will help you stay within the law and understand all its nuances!
